CDBG Application Process to Request 2012 Funding
The first step to apply for 2012 CDBG funding is to submit a Letter of Interest (LOI). LOI were due January 4, 2012. An Application Workshop was held on Dec. 2, 2011, which is required prior to submitting a LOI.
The deadline for CDBG applications for 2012 funding was extended from the due date of February 17 to February 21, 2012. Applications must include a detailed written description of your proposal, the length of time to complete the project, and budgetary and financial information such as the cost of the overall project, how it fits in with the other programs in your organization, the dollar amount your organization will contribute toward the activity, etc.
The CDBG Advisory Board will review the applications, and recommendations will be made to the Board of County Commissioners in the Spring 2012. The Commissioners make the final decisions on CDBG grant awards no later than June 15, 2012, when the recommendations are due to HUD in the form of an Annual Action Plan. Once the process is complete, it will be at least the Fall 2012 before contracts are signed and grant monies become available. The funds must be spent no more than 12 months from the date the contract is signed by the County and the organization.
