Through careful monitoring, TCHD has determined that the severity of this flu is no greater than that of the seasonal flu. Although cases are slowly rising within Colorado and nationally, this is more of an indication of the backlog of testing than of new cases. Currently, we still only have one confirmed case in Douglas County.
TCHD still recommends maintaining high standards of hygiene to minimize any further spread of the flu which will also minimize the opportunity for the flu to mutate into a stronger strain of the flu.
Douglas County is working closely with the Douglas County Office of Emergency Management, Tri-County Health Department, as well as the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) regarding the H1N1 flu. We are receiving updates and, as information changes, we will share what we know on this Web site. Please refer to this page for links to current information from our public health partners.
