Schedule an Inspection
Please call the Douglas County Building Division's Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system at 303.660.7497 to schedule your building inspections. Inspections called into the IVR system before 3:30 p.m. will be scheduled for the following business day.
Have the following information ready when making your request:
- Permit Number
- Address of your job
- Type(s) of inspection needed
The IVR system will allow you to use either voice or touch-tone commands. First select menu option (1) for requesting inspections. Follow the instructions and request the inspection(s) desired. A help menu is provided in the IVR system if you don’t know what type of inspection needs to be requested. Inspection type is also available on your inspection card. Be sure to stay on the line for confirmation that your inspection has been scheduled.
We are unable to give exact times for inspections due to the demanding schedules of the inspectors. As a courtesy to homeowners, inspectors attempt to give a "window" of time for their inspections. Please note that this will be the inspector’s best estimate of their inspection time and could be subject to change without notification.
The IVR system is a powerful tool available to you to help manage the many aspects of your building project. By calling the IVR system you can obtain information about inspections that have been performed, have been scheduled, check fees for your building permit and to see if the building permit is ready to be issued. You can also check meter release information on your project and outstanding paperwork requirements before your rough inspections.
