The Board of County Commissioners proactively supports a business-friendly climate in Douglas County.

Douglas County is a great place to do business.  Companies located in Douglas County have access to a skilled and well-educated workforce.  Fifty-six percent of the County’s workforce has an Associates degree, Bachelor’s degree or Master’s/Professional degree.  Plus, businesses in Douglas County have easy access to the full workforce in the Metro Denver region.

Douglas County’s Community Planning and Sustainability Department offers speedy development review and permitting for new and expanding business projects.  An integrated Planning and Engineering function allows quick and coordinated processing.

Existing commercial real estate is available in Douglas County for most any endeavor.  In addition, ready-to-go land is available for build to suit endeavors.  Communications infrastructure throughout the County provides high speed, high bandwidth communications needed by businesses.

A wide range of housing choices is available in Douglas County, from high-end executive homes to affordable workforce housing.  Through the Douglas County Housing Partnership, the County actively works to promote and develop affordable housing alternatives for employees.

Colorado's corporate income tax rate is a flat 4.63 percent assessed on Colorado net income, defined as the corporation's federal taxable income, with some modifications.  Colorado allows businesses to use either a two-factor formula (revenue and property) or a three-factor formula (revenue, property and payroll), whichever is less, in determining their income tax.   For details see http://www.colorado.gov/revenue/tax

Real and personal property tax mill levies vary by jurisdiction. In Colorado the nonresidential real and personal property assessment ratio is 29%.
