The Douglas County Clerk and Recorder's Office recently held an innovation contest with it's employees to gain ideas for enhancing the online services offered by the Clerk and Recorder. Many great ideas were submitted.
First Place Winner
Charlotte Gifford works in the Elections Mapping Department and has been with the County since 1996. Charlotte submitted an idea to combine all of the online services currently offered by the Clerk and Recorder into a single, easy to find location for our citizens. It has long been an objective of the Clerk's office to offer our citizens more convenient access to our services. Offering a menu of online services is an important aspect of achieving that goal; making the services easier for our citizens to find and use is the next step.
The Clerk and Recorder's Office will be taking action over the course of the year to highlight our online services for the convenience of the citizen. Some of these services include:
- Property Records Search »
- Online Marriage License Applications »
- Online Voter Registration Lookup »
- Online License Plate Renewals »
- Online Driver's License Renewals »
We're making it easier for citizens to do business 24/7!
Second Place Winners
Kiersten Mayer and Carolyin Ringler, both from our Motor Vehicle Office, tied for second place with their idea submissions. Kiersten is a Motor Vehicle Specialist in the Castle Rock office and Carolyn Ringler is the Motor Vehicle Manager for all of our locations. Their idea is to create a motor vehicle registration estimator for our website. The idea is that, when purchasing a new vehicle, consumers often would like to know how much their registration fees will be prior to purchase. While this tool would not give an exact price, it will be able to provide a reasonably close estimate.
We are already working on this application for our website and plan to bring it online soon.
Third Place Winner
Marsha Faulk is the Motor Vehicle Manager at the Parker office. Marsha's idea is to completely redesign the Driver's License website in order to make it more user friendly. In addition, she suggest that we offer a mechanism for citizens to communicate directly with the Driver's License office to ask questions.
Along with several other updates to our website, we will be redesigning to Driver's License site for the convenience of our citizens and customers.
