Mail-In Ballot

Recent changes in legislation have made it easier to cast your vote by mail. A Mail-In Ballot (formerly known as an absentee ballot) is available to all Colorado voters. Using a Mail-In Ballot means that you receive your official ballot in the mail, cast your votes in the privacy of your own home and return the ballot by mail or in person before the deadline. Since you do not have to go to a polling place to vote, using a Mail-In Ballot really is the easiest way to vote!

To request a Mail-In Ballot, simply download the application form at the bottom of this page, complete the form and return to the address listed below. Alternatively, you may also send a letter that includes your printed name, residential address (no P.O. Boxes), mailing address (including P.O. Boxes), date of birth and signature.

Mail-In Ballots can be requested on an annual basis or voters may choose to permanently receive Mail-In Ballots.

Permanent Mail-In Ballot

Voters who wish to receive a Mail-In Ballot for every year can do so by choosing the Permanent Mail-In Ballot option on the application form (see example below). You may also sign up for Mail-In Ballots when you register to vote.

Voters can choose to "opt out" of the Permanent Mail-In Ballot at any time.

Mail-In Ballot Application Restrictions

Mail-In Ballot Applications must be filed no later than 4:30 p.m. on the Tuesday immediately preceding the election in order for voters to receive a ballot in the mail for the current year.

Voters who wish to vote a Mail-In Ballot at the County Clerk's office may file an application until 4:30 p.m. on the Friday immediately before the election.

Letters and applications are not valid unless the applicant's signature is included. Applications cannot be signed by parents, children or a spouse.

You may also mail your completed application or letter to:
