Listed below are the sample ballot(s) and the official results for historical Douglas County elections. All listed documents are in PDF format unless otherwise noted.
Definitions:
Coordinated Election: Special districts or municipalities occasionally have ballot issues that are combined with federal, state, and county contests on the same ballot. For example, the Parker Water District may choose to Coordinate with the County Clerk and Recorder to have an issue placed on the ballot.
Primary Election: A primary election, typically held on even numbered years, helps to narrow the field of opponents running for the same office. The candidate who gets the most votes from each political party will go on the General Election Ballot.
General Election: General elections, commonly known as Election Day, is held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Electors vote on issues and candidates during the General Election.
Composite Sample Ballots: For each election, individual precincts, districts, or municipalities may have an issue on the ballot that other precincts, districts, or municipalities will not vote on. For example, a voter residing in Castle Rock would not vote on a Parker Water District issue. A Composite Sample Ballot is a single ballot that displays all races and contests that were on each of the ballot types, countywide.
