The Douglas County Clerk & Recorder is an official passport acceptance facility where you can drop off your application, pick up an application, have your passport photo taken, and pay passport fees. We work as an agent of the U.S. Department of State in this capacity.
Allow at least four weeks for the U.S. Department of State to process the application.
Passport Acceptance Hours of Operation: 8am until 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Citizens traveling to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and The Caribbean Region will be required to have a passport, passport card, or other travel document to re-enter the United States.
New and Recent Requirement Changes
The U.S. Department of State occasionally changes requirements for passport applications. We display those recent changes in this area. More detailed information can be found at the Department of State Website.
Parent(s) Name Required on Birth Certificate
Beginning April 1, 2011, the U.S. Department of State will require the full names of the applicant’s parent(s) to be listed on all certified birth certificates to be considered as primary evidence of U.S. citizenship for all passport applicants, regardless of age. Certified birth certificates missing this information will not be acceptable as evidence of citizenship. This will not affect applications already in-process that have been submitted or accepted before the effective date.
