Jack Hilbert

Jack Hilbert was elected Douglas County Commissioner in November of 2006 after serving in leadership positions for 35 years in the public and private sector as well as corporate enterprise, most recently as the Global Capture Manager for Avaya, Inc.
Now in the third year of his first term, in January of 2009 he was appointed by his peers to serve as Chair of the Board of Douglas County Commissioners. During 2009 Commissioner Hilbert will also represent Douglas County as recent past President of the Metro Area County Commissioners, past President of the Front Range District for Colorado Counties, Inc., recently elected to the Executive Board for Colorado Counties Inc., one of two Colorado Commissioners representing Colorado on the National Association of County Governments (NACo) Board of Directors. NACo represents over 3800 counties on a number of national issues.
Additionally he represents the County as an appointee to the following organizations: Colorado Counties, Inc. Health & Human Services, and Transportation & Telecommunications Steering Committees; Denver Regional Council of Governments; Metro Vision, Douglas County Fair Association; e-470 Public Highway Authority; Parker Economic Development Council; Rocky Mountain Rail Authority; Southeast Business Partnership; Denver International Airport (DIA) Noise Task Force; Developmental Pathways Board of Directors; and the South I-25 Urban Corridor-Transportation Management Authority.
He holds certifications in Project Management - Finance for Professionals and Executives; Avaya Certified-Associate-Communication Networking; Hotel Master Supplier and Retail Industry Management.
Hilbert studied Behavioral Sciences at the University of Southern Colorado; Theology at Drew University; Business at the University of Phoenix; Project Management Professional at George Washington University and a Fellowship in Technology from Ball State University.
Hilbert is also a Vietnam era veteran who was drafted in 1971 and served in the US Army. Jack was in the Military Police Honor Guard in Washington D.C., where he was a Provost Marshal Investigator and liaison to Secret Service.
A native Coloradoan, Hilbert was born and raised on a farm in Pueblo. “Those work ethics and family values forged my heart and soul and have served me well all my life,” said Hilbert. “I always applied a ‘work hard ethic’ and a ‘teaming’ spirit with a desire to serve.”
Hilbert now resides in Parker with his wife, Pat, of 35 years. They have two sons, Jack II and Jassen. Hilbert has been very involved in the community in a variety of capacities including: serving on boards, committees and commissions; being a member of the Republican party; church; hobbies such as golf, ATV riding, hunting, fishing and shooting; as well as other organizations such as Elks-BPOE #90 for 25 years, American Legion Post 211, Optimists Clubs, Rotary Club and others.
