The Douglas County Parks, Trails and Building Grounds Advisory Board, working with staff, advises and makes recommendations to the Douglas County Board of Commissioners regarding disbursement of funds from the Open Space Land, Trails and Parks Sales Tax Fund, and the selection of land to be acquired, maintained, or developed for the establishment of regional trail and park priorities through citizen input.

The Board is made up of nine members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Advisory Board members are appointed for a term of three years with terms staggered so that one-third expire each year. Members may be re-appointed at the discretion of the Board of County Commissioners.

Public Involvement

All meetings of the Committee are open to the public. Monthly meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Highland Heritage Regional Park, 9651 S. Quebec Street, Littleton, CO. For more information, call 720.733.6990.

Public involvement is highly encouraged and welcomed at these monthly meetings. Come out and meet your County’s Parks Advisory members at their next meeting.
