Do you think that you have seen Hunt Mountain already? We will be exploring the rims and gulches of the spectacular (and private) JA Ranch. As guests of the owner, we will be climbing along wildlife and cattle trails, through forests and along rocky ledges. This 5-mile hike may be strenuous, but the scenery will be more than rewarding. It won’t be hard to realize why this land was worth protecting with a conservation easement.
The hike begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 17 and will end at approximately 1 p.m.
Participants are asked to meet at the east side of I-25 at the Upper Lake Gulch Exit 172 near Larkspur at 9 a.m. sharp.
Waivers will be signed at the site. Come prepared with water, lunch, sunglasses, good walking shoes, and a couple of layers of clothing. (Please, No dogs on this ranch hike.)
This hike is limited to 30 participants and each participant must fill out an online form (below). When the hike has reached the 30-person limit, the online form will no longer be available. Directions to the hike meeting area will be sent to registered hikers.
