Chatfield State Park Trail System

Highlights: Thirty miles of paved and soft surface trails are through cottonwood forest, along ponds, Chatfield Reservoir, swimming beaches, boat ramps and rentals, open grasslands, dog training and exercise area, picnic areas and campground. Trails are generally designated multiuse. Horse rental available. Horses are prohibited at picnic sites, campsites and the swim beach. Programs offered. Park entry fee is required on the 3768 acres.

Trail Rating: Easy and accessible on paved surfaces. Mostly level.

Trail Length: Over 30 miles combined.

Trail Surface: Paved and soft surface.

Uses: See park regulations. Trails include the Chatfield Internal Bikeway, Chatfield Dam Trail, and the Chatfield Equestrian Loop.

Amenities: See highlights. Restrooms and picnic shelters and showers provided.

Location: Dam area along South Platte River, South of C-470 and east of Santa Fe.
Entrances: Wadsworth about one mile south of C-470; Roxborough Park Road two miles north of Titan Road; Santa Fe and 1/4 mile south, and turn right on Blakeland to access Dog Training and Exercise Area (you must have a parks pass to park in this area.)
