SURVEY
This survey is to gauge your experience with the Douglas County Engineering Division.
Our Mission:
The Engineering Division reviews and approves construction plans and reports for new development, both subdivisions and commercial site plans. All capital improvement projects go through Engineering. All construction permits and grading permits (excluding building permits) are issued by the Engineering Division as well. In addition all inspection of the construction of public infrastructure is performed by the Engineering Division.
The Engineering Division works in accordance with sound engineering principles and practices providing oversight, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and implementation of infrastructure and program needs for Douglas County in compliance with adopted criteria, policies, and procedures.
The Engineering Division responsibilities are:

Responsible for developing, managing, and implementing short-term and long-term roadway, bridge, and drainage capital improvement projects.Development Review »
Responsible for the coordination of infrastructure activities in the development process.Permits, Inspections and Utilities »
Issues permits and performs inspections for use of street areas or for roadway construction work to be done by developers.Stormwater Management »
The primary function of storm sewer systems, including natural channels, is the collection, conveyance, and storage of stormwater runoff.Transportation Engineering and Traffic Operations »
Provides for transportation/traffic project development and implementation of the Roadway System, including traffic studies; traffic signals, signs, markings and school flashers; planning design, construction, operation and ongoing maintenance; professional assistance; and coordination with other agencies regarding transportation/traffic issues.
