Location: Sedalia
Current Owner: Different Drummer, LLC
Nominated By: Starr Oberlin
Historic Significance
The property is significant for the architectural style of the 1912 brick house. The Edwardian vernacular design is exhibited in the cross-gabled rooflines, asymmetrical massing, overhanging eaves, turned Doric porch columns, and a wrap-around porch. Detailing in the brickwork, the arched window crowns, and the stone sills are other outstanding design features. There have been no changes made to the exterior of the building. The interior of the house has all of the original pine woodwork, with many built-in features. Three original brass chandeliers still hang in the main downstairs rooms.
The carriage house that sits on the back of the property is made of the same brick. The roof is pyramidal with a small cupola on center top, with wide, overhanging eaves. The original doors have been replaced with overhead double doors.
