Hunger Free Colorado is the state’s leading anti-hunger organization dedicated to ensuring that all Coloradans have sustainable access to nutritious, affordable food. We leverage the power of system change, policy change and social change to educate, advocate and mobilize Coloradans to take an active stance against hunger in our community and to ensure that no Coloradan goes hungry.

The Hunger Free Hotline

The Hunger Free Hotline is a bilingual toll-free number that connect people to needed food. Resource navigators ask callers high-level screening questions so that their recommendations are tailored to each caller’s unique situation in English and Spanish. They refer clients to food pantries, congregate feeding sites, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly Food Stamp Program), the Summer Food Service Program, WIC (Women, Infants, and Children), and more. The resource navigators provide callers with detailed information about eligibility requirements and help prepare clients applying for and accessing the federal nutrition assistance programs.

The Hunger Free Hotline is an initiative of Hunger Free Colorado and is made possible thanks to the generous support of Kaiser Permanente. Due to a partnership with the Colorado Department of Human Services, the Hunger Free Hotline has been written into the state’s SNAP outreach plan and private funding for the Hotline is matched with federal dollars.
