Douglas County Office of Veterans Affairs
The Office of Veterans Affairs provides access to special programs and services for veterans and their families. As advocates for veterans, staff provides timely information on services, events and activities affecting veterans. This includes coordination with the Colorado Division of Veterans Affairs and the United Veterans Committee (UVC) of Colorado. The Veterans Affairs staff also assists all veterans in applying for benefits, employment assistance, medical care, transportation and coordination to other services.
Staff consists of volunteers who are military veterans. They are trained by and work in cooperation with the Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
Colorado Division of Veterans Affairs
The mission of the Division of Veterans Affairs is to assist all Colorado veterans and other eligible persons in securing benefits and entitlements under all applicable federal and state statutes. To accomplish this mission, the Division serves as a central source of information on veterans benefits and issues. It provides representation and advocacy in the federal veterans’ claims and appeals processes. It trains, supports and directs the County Veterans Service Officers who are the local agents for providing assistance. In accomplishing its mission, the Division treats all consumers of its services and groups it works with, as valued customers.
