Our Mission
The Application Development and Support (ADS) Division’s mission is to provide software implementations and acquisition/integration services that align to the County’s business needs. The division is comprised of three teams:
- The Enterprise Architecture Team’s primary responsibility is the creation and maintenance of the Strategic Technology Plan and the standards/practices that guide the usage of information technology within the County. The team is responsible for establishing the many aspects of Douglas County's overall technology architecture.
- The Development Team designs, develops and maintains software solutions using our core technologies of Java, J2EE and Oracle. The team is responsible for development of systems support for County departments/offices, as well as many of the online applications on the website. Overall, the team has developed and maintains 30+ systems with more than 750,000 source lines of code (SLOC) to serve County needs.
- The Quality Assurance Team works to ensure quality is built into each phase of the software life cycle. The QA team conducts software testing tasks to ensure that our software products function as intended and meet our customer and constituent needs. The team is an integral part of our continuous process improvement efforts to prevent the introduction of flaws into our software systems.
