Information Technology Operations “keeps it running”. Our goal is to develop and maintain rock solid computing and communications environments that enable Douglas County employees to excel at their jobs and deliver best in class services to our constituents.
Our Focus
The skilled System Administrators and Network Engineers of IT Operations plan, deploy and maintain the data processing and communications infrastructure for the County. Key areas of responsibility include:

- Core Enterprise Applications
While “system up time” is our number one priority, we also work closely with the various County Departments and the other IT Divisions to implement new technical solutions to business challenges. Typical activities involve:

- User Provisioning
With the completion in 2005 of a geographically disperse storage area network and distributed service nodes, Douglas County serves as a model for highly available and disaster resistant information systems. 2006 saw the introduction of the core VOIP platform to replace the legacy PBX. 2007 initiatives include:

- Light Weight, Mobile and Remote Computing Platforms
