How would you like to play an instrumental role in shaping the future of Douglas County?
If you live in Commissioner District I or II — and are available to attend meetings as needed on the second and fourth Mondays of the month — the County is seeking alternates to serve on the Douglas County Planning Commission.
Planning Commissioners are citizen volunteers that assist the BOCC by adopting and certifying the County’s Master Plan, reviewing and making recommendations on land use applications, conducting studies on future growth and land use and recommending zoning and subdivision regulation amendments.
An alternate’s role consists of staying up to date on all topics and projects under review by the nine planning commissioners and representing an absent planning commissioner on official proceedings. The alternate would also be considered to fill a vacancy within their district should one of the three district commissioners resign, be removed or term out.
Interested applicants may fill out an online application or print out the application and mail it to: Douglas County Commissioners’ Office, 100 Third St., Castle Rock, CO 80104 by Aug. 15. For additional information, please contact the Douglas County Commissioners’ Office at 303-660-7401.
