Description:
The pottery bottle is a golden maple colored brown. A circular stamp indicates a manufacturing date from the early 1900's. The stamp reads in a circular pattern THE ROBINSON MERRILL CO with OHIO in the center. The Johnson, Whitmore & Company of Akron, Ohio became Whitmore, Robinson Company from 1862 to 1900. They merged with E.H. Merrill and became Robinson—Merrill Company in 1902. The cylindrical measurements from the base to where the should branches out is 7 3/4 inches. From the base there are 6 uniform indented ridges. These ridges are 5 3/4 inches from the base of the bottle. The shoulder tapers into the short neck. The neck has a raised ring about 1/2 inch from the shoulder. The flared lip has an indented ridge for pouring. The bore is 1/2 inch in diameter. The circumfrance of the bottle is 11 1/2 inches.
