The tool allowed one-man fence fixing, making repairs easier. It quickly tightened any fence whether it was high tensile, barbed or smooth wire, by splicing, stretching and repositioning wire. When splicing wire, the tool holds the ends in place so both hands are free to make the splice.The ratcheting or pulley system appears broken in half at one end. The lever on this stretcher provides automatic wire takeup.
