Open Space Day has something for everyone

Guided horseback rides for equestrian owners, hayrides, blacksmith demonstrations, archery,  a guided hike through a canyon, a chance to dance to live bluegrass, and a birds of prey exhibit — the annual Douglas County Open Space Day has it all.

All activities are free.  A BBQ lunch is available for purchase.

Scheduled for 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Aug. 19 at Prairie Canyon Ranch, 4620 S. State Hwy 83 in Franktown, the family-friendly event, co-hosted by the Douglas County Open Space and Natural Resources and the Douglas Land Conservancy.

Guided rides and hikes will take off at 10 a.m. starting the fun. Music by the Dry Creek Bluegrass Band, other activities and demonstrations and a BBQ lunch (available for purchase) will be available from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
