The Duncan property was valued for the wide variety of wildlife,
including elk, deer, fox, and numerous waterbirds. West Plum Creek passes
through the property, providing habitat for mammals, bird and fish species.
A number of the fish species are uncommon on the Front Range of Colorado.
The land is ideal habitat for the Preble’s meadow jumping mouse and
has historic habitat for the rare Sharptail grouse.
The Duncan Ranch has been a working farm and ranch for more than 100 years. The land provides an extensive viewshed along the Front Range and serves as a natural community buffer between Sedalia and Castle Rock.
There is no public access on this property. It remains in private ownership.
