Highlights:
Adjacent to I-25, the 145-acre property has native chokecherry and wild plum shrubs along an intermittent stream. The trail winds up into Gambel oak shrubland and onto a grassland plain with views of Pikes Peak and the Colorado Front Range. Trail skirts rocky caprock on the northern spur. A 17-acre off-leash dog area is west of the main trail head.

Moderately easy; some short climbs that may be more challenging; about 200 feet of elevation change

1.6 miles, including loop and spur to rocks

Multi-use: horses, mountain bikes and hiking; dogs must be on leash

Port-a-potty, hitching rails, benches, picnic tables, a 17-acre off-leash dog area, parking for cars and horse trailers

Location:
From the South - Exit 188 Castle Pines, go north 2 miles on E. Frontage Road.

From the North - Exit 192 Ridgegate, go south 2 miles on E. Frontage Road.
