Sharptail Ridge Trail System
Highlights:
This open space designation protects the scenic viewshed and wildlife habitat
of the land east of Roxborough State Park. The 4-mile Sharptail Trail crosses
rolling grasslands, home to a variety of wildlife including elk herds.
This trail will have seasonal closures in the fall to allow for hunting
as regulated by Colorado Division of Wildlife.

Moderate based on length and gently rolling hills
Trail Length:
Approximately four miles, connects with the Swallowtail Trail.
Trail Surface:
Natural surface.
Uses:
Hiking and horseback riding. NOTE: Colorado Division of Wildlife regulations
prohibits bicyclists and dogs at Sharptail Ridge Trailhead or on Sharptail
Trail.
Amenities:
Log-cabin style group picnic shelter, Port-a-potty, parking for cars and
horse trailers, interpretive signage, hitching rails, benches, water spigot
Location:
From Highway 85 (Santa Fe) turn west on Titan Parkway and drive 2 miles to
Roxborough Road; turn left and drive south for 3.7 miles on gravel road;
Sharptail Ridge Trailhead on the left.
