At the southern end of Douglas County, True Mountain is highly visible from Interstate 25 and provides natural views and scenic vistas for the public. The land is home to a diversity of species of wildlife, including deer and pronghorn and a wide variety of birds and raptors.
True Mountain provides an important wildlife corridor to adjoining properties and other publicly protected lands. There is limited public access to True Mountain by prearranged hikes only. It is owned by a non-profit organization.
