The Douglas County, Colorado Addressing and Street Naming Manual was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners in April 1996. This document contains procedures to name streets and create street addresses that guide staff in ensuring consistency in addressing. Accurate addressing ensures that emergency services, such as police, fire and ambulance, are able to locate and respond quickly in an emergency; that visitors to a new area are able to find their way in a timely fashion; and it minimizes delivery time for postal and private carriers. As a service to residents we also provide a list of all street names in, or approved for use in, Douglas County.
