Our Mission
Provide direct and indirect services to our citizens and employees of Douglas County.
Direct Services to Citizens: Maintenance of Condition, Snow and Ice Removal, Concrete Repair, Drainage Maintenance, Maintenance of Erosion Control Dams, Trash Transfer Sites, Weed Management and assist with Open Space Maintenance.
Internal Services: Fleet Management/Maintenance, Facilities Management/Maintenance and Capital Facility Construction.
The Operations Division
responsibilities are:
Provides roadway maintenance and repair
in unincorporated areas of the County, excluding state highways, currently including
approximately 306 center lane miles of gravel and 793 center lane miles of paved/concrete (599 lane miles of gravel roads and 1,745 lane miles
of paved/concrete roads), with additional mileage added annually as development occurs.
Provides for the management, maintenance and
construction of County-owned facilities to include the Douglas County Fairgrounds and Events Center.
Provides for the management and maintenance of
County-owned vehicles, including automobiles, patrol cars and road maintenance
equipment.
Provides management of Douglas County's noxious weed program to include mowing and herbicide application. Weed Management also provides noxious weed educational materials for Douglas County residents.

Trash Disposal »
There
are two transfer sites available for trash disposal in Douglas County. One is
operated by Imperial Enterprises, Al Miscowski at 303.621.2275. The second site
is operated by Douglas County.
West Nile Mitigation
The County Weed Management program provides
treatments on County owned properties and right-of-way for the prevention
of the West Nile virus and supports Tri-County Health in the mitigation of
the virus through trapping and mosquito identification to determine
if we have West Nile carrying insects. You can find out information on West

Household Chemical Roundup - The County sponsors three annual household chemical events in conjunction with Tri-County Health. For more information visit www.tchd.org/householdchemical.htm
Slash/Mulch »
The County provides a drop-off location for slash during the summer months and provides mulch disbursement at the end of the season. For more information contact 303.660.7480.
