Commissioners honor Public Works professionals for keeping our communities safe and functioning smoothly

Every day, countless public works professionals make substantial contributions to protect the health, safety and quality of life of all of us who call Douglas County home.

From designing, building and repairing roads, to snow removal, water quality monitoring, and maintaining public structures and facilities, these dedicated employees are working to make our lives easier.

The Board of Douglas County Commissioners proclaimed May 19-25 as National Public Works week to recognize the many positive impacts public works have on our communities.

Join in honoring these vital members of our community this week, and throughout the year, by being aware and helping to keep them safe when you encounter them. Share this employee-narrated video and remind your friends and neighbors to drive safely in work zones.
