What’s on my Ballot?

Presidential Primary Election Ballot Information

The office of the President of the United States is the only contest on both the Democratic and Republican Presidential Primary ballot.

  • One of the selections included on the Democratic ballot is for “Noncommitted delegate”. The Colorado Democratic Party submitted a request for a “Noncommitted delegate” to appear on the 2024 Presidential Primary Ballot under the provisions of Colorado Revised Statutes 1-4-1204(3). Per statute, a vote for the Noncommitted delegate provides “a place on the primary ballot for electors who have no presidential candidate preference to register a vote to send a noncommitted delegate to the political party’s national convention.

Please click here for the sample ballot for the Republican Presidential Primary Election.

  • One of the selections on the Republican ballot is for a “Write-In”. The certified write-in candidates for the Republican party who have filed the required paperwork with the Secretary of State are Rachel Hannah “Mohawk” Swift and Walter Iwachiw.

Why are some candidates who have withdrawn from the Presidential Primary still on the ballot?

Sometimes a presidential primary candidate may withdraw from their race after the ballot has been printed. Unless a candidate has officially filed paperwork with the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office, votes for withdrawn candidates who appear on the ballot will still be counted by Colorado county clerks.

To date, no candidates have officially filed paperwork with the Colorado Secretary of State’s office to withdraw from the Colorado Presidential Primary. If a candidate files official paperwork with the state to withdraw, the votes they receive will not be tabulated or included in published election results.
