Douglas County strives to engage the media in our ongoing efforts to provide routine and reliable public access to and receipt of timely information about County government. Maintaining an open, transparent and accountable government requires that our staff have an equally open, transparent and accountable relationship with news media.

At the directive of the Douglas County Commissioners, the public affairs staff is committed to the distribution of accurate and timely information about County policies, programs, and services; improving access to and knowledge of the proceedings of County Government; facilitating means by which to engage the public in the process of government; and being a consistently reliable resource to print, broadcast and online news media.
