Services

Douglas County Health Department is committed to providing continuity of public health services for county residents as our new health department grows and begins to provide services on its own. We have contracted with Tri-County Health Department to continue providing many public health services through the end of 2022. As we take over various services, we will update the information below. All services will be transitioned to DCHD by the end of December 2022.

 

Disease Surveillance

On July 1, 2022, communicable disease investigation and follow-up will be transitioned from the Tri-County Health Department to the Douglas County Health Department.

Healthcare (Clinical) Services

WOMEN, INFANTS, & CHILDREN (WIC)

(WIC)provides free nutritious foods and nutrition education to improve the health of participating families that include pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to the age of 5 years..

Vital Records

Certified birth and death certificates are legal documents that are printed on forgery-resistant safety paper with watermarks, raised engraving, background security patterns, and a unique certificate identification number.
