Reddish orange ceramic selter (mineral) bottle from Ober Selter, Germany. Houck & Dieter exporters. Straight sided, circular stoneware jug. Base broken out, applied single-ring handle broken off. It is wheel-thrown, jugger-made with a single ring finish (for cork stopper), stamped label, brown salt-glazed, short neck with a series of encircling embossed ridges intended to help secure the wire for the cork.
Handle looped from just below the base of the neck to the base of the shoulder. Lip is formed by hand, broken base shows the coils and the method of formation.
