Description:
Melophone, made by Conn Corp.of Elkhart Indiana 1912. Serial number 141933. Built in F with additional tuning slides to play in the keys of E flat,D,C. Orginal case and accessories. Brass with lacquer finish, restamped on the bell when exchanged for a different instrument to serial number 7858. This exchange was for a Brusher instrument. the smaller companies were boycotting Conn because of labor disputes when Conn was trying to do away with smaller companies because of the competition they were causing, thus the re-stamping. The smaller firms won out.
