The Nemaha, Nebraska Town Band, circa 1880s. The musicians, who are wearing European style uniforms, are from left to right: (seated) J. Lambert Melvin, George Fairbrother, George Dyer, Thomas Higgins, Tom Finch, Lance Jones; (standing) Bill Seid, unidentified, Charlie Dye, Fred Scoville, George Sanders, John E. Crother; the youngster seated on the floor is Worthy Frazier. All of the instruments have Perinet piston valves. Note the helicon tuba and valve trombones
