The project is located along the east of the I-25 / Castle Rock Parkway Interchange and will connect the Happy Canyon Subdivision on the north with the Silver Heights Subdivision on the south via a gated emergency access road. The County intends to construct a gated emergency egress that would connect Happy Canyon Subdivision to Silver Heights Subdivision – via a gravel egress road across several properties. The project extends from Home Street on the south located in the Silver Heights Subdivision to North Canyon Lane to the north located in the Happy Canyon Subdivision and is approximate 0.75 miles in length. The proposed gated emergency access will be a gravel road, 22 feet wide, and requires substantial grading, drainage, and sediment control features. The roadway width meets the minimum width required by the fire departments that will need to utilize this emergency access.
Construction is expected to begin in mid-August and be completed in late November 2021.
The total project is estimated to cost $850,000 (which includes survey, engineering, right-of-way acquisition, construction, construction management, construction inspection and material testing).
