Read this update to Sparky. Douglas County’s most popular pooch playground – the 17-acre Glendale Farm Dog Park – will soon be an even better place to play. Construction on a series of renovations begins Tuesday, March 1.

Renovations to the beloved park – which sees 330,000 visitors and their four-legged family members each year – include trail improvements, new dog water stations, additional parking, and other accessibility improvements. Work will be completed in two phases to minimize inconvenience.

Phase 1, beginning on March 1, will include the construction of the southern parking lot and trail. Construction is expected to take eight to 10 weeks. For safety, the southern parking lot will be closed during construction. Please park in the existing northern lot.

Phase 2 includes the reconstruction of the northern parking lot and Glendale Farm Trail. This phase will begin as soon as Phase 1 is completed. For safe construction, the northern parking lot and the Glendale Farm Trail will be temporarily closed, the southern lot will be open for use.

Once the entire project is complete later this year, visitors can also expect improved drainage and erosion control with a reduction of odor and muddy conditions, as well as improved vegetation and reduced maintenance costs. The park is located just south of the Interstate 25 and Castle Pines Parkway interchange.
