Did you know that September is National Cleanup Month? Join us on Saturday, Sept. 28 for our second Dougnad event of 2024, which will focus on outdoor cleanup. This is the perfect opportunity to give back to your community and ensure Douglas County is well-kept for all who live and play here!
Join one of these volunteer opportunities on Sept. 28:
- Challenger Tree Planting – Join the Douglas County Parks Department to plant trees at this popular regional park.
- Renew the Ranch – Join the Highlands Ranch Metro District to cleanup Marcy Gulch and the Southridge Area.
- Glendale Farm Dog Park pickup – Join volunteers at Glendale Farm Dog Park to lend a hand and pick up dog waste left by others. This is the perfect opportunity to spend some time with your dog while making your community a better place! No need to sign up, just show up.
Volunteers will receive a thank-you gift for their time. For more information on these various projects and to sign up, visit our Dougnad webpage.
What is Dougnad?
“Dugnad” is a custom of communal work in Norway that dates back centuries. Today, dugnad has come to mean unpaid voluntary work done in a group for local, national or international causes. This historic tradition exemplifies our community’s heart of service and a spirit of community.
