Environmental Health

When you eat at a restaurant or drop off your child at daycare, you want to be sure it’s a safe environment. That’s where you’ll find the environmental health experts from the Douglas County Health Department in action.

Environmental Health focuses on preventing foodborne illnesses in restaurants; preventing the spread of communicable diseases in childcare facilities, body art facilities, and water systems; and mitigating other environmental conditions that could be harmful to your health.

Douglas County’s environmental health services are expected to begin this fall. Until then, Douglas County continues to contract with Tri-County Health for these services. If you need an inspection or other environmental health service, please visit the Tri-County Health Department’s website.

Please continue to check back, or sign up for email updates from Douglas County Health Department.
