You know a strong economy and job market are essential to the overall health of a community. That’s why Douglas County Commissioners continue to support a welcoming environment for new businesses.

On Monday, June 23, Commissioners joined Northrop Grumman leaders and community partners to celebrate the grand opening of the Highfield Integration Facility, an event Commissioner Abe Laydon called a “milestone moment” for both the company and the County. In his remarks, Commissioner Laydon emphasized that the new aerospace hub represents more than economic growth: it reflects intentional investment in local opportunity, education partnerships and workforce development.

“At the county level, we work every day to build a business environment where innovation can thrive. That means smart infrastructure, responsive government and a culture that says “yes” to projects that bring lasting value to our residents,” said Commissioner Laydon.
