Do you have a passion for art, science or history, and a desire to help bring more culture to Douglas County as well as some time to give?

Consider volunteering to serve as a Board Member on Douglas County’s Cultural Council.

The Cultural Council — which works together to help identify opportunities to strengthen the cultural vitality of Douglas County — has an immediate opening for a resident of Commissioner District I, which encompasses the northeastern portion of the County including Lone Tree and Parker.

The nine-member council has the opportunity to oversee the County’s Art Encounters Program, review applications from organizations requesting Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) funds and choose applicable organizations that support the advancement and preservation of performing and visual arts, history and natural sciences.

The successful applicant must be available to meet on the second Tuesday evening of each month and be willing to commit to serving a three-year term.

Applications will be accepted through Feb. 16, 2024. Those interested may fill out an online application. For additional information, contact the Douglas County Commissioners’ Office at 303-660-7401.
