Board of Douglas County Commissioners asks state legislators for immediate property tax relief

As the Colorado General Assembly begins its special session to address property taxes Friday, Nov. 17, the Douglas County Board of County Commissioners continues to urge immediate property tax relief.

During its regular business meeting Tuesday, Nov. 14, the Board unanimously passed a resolution asking Colorado’s lawmakers to provide “the greatest possible tax relief for property owners, ensuring such relief benefits those most affected by this crisis, including the state’s aging, disabled and veteran residents,” according to the resolution.

The resolution went on to ask that the solution also preserve the Colorado Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR). Read the full resolution.

In addition to opposing Proposition HH, the Douglas County Commissioners have taken several steps to help reduce the property tax burden in Douglas County:
