About Douglas County’s future parks
- High Note Regional Park in Lone Tree will include two new multipurpose fields in phase one. (Douglas County invested $7.5 million)
- Salisbury Park in Parker will include new softball and baseball fields, soccer fields, and other facilities. (Parker received $10.2 million in share-back funds from the sales tax fund, which is being used for the expansion, and Douglas County invested $7.5 million).
- Gold Crown fieldhouse in Castle Rock (Douglas County invested $7.5 million)
- Zebulon, a regional sports complex in northwestern Douglas County.
Since 1994, a voter-approved 0.17% sales and use tax has preserved parks, trails, historic resources, and open spaces across Douglas County, including dedicated funds for cities and towns. In 2022, more than 87% of voters approved extending the tax. A 2024 community survey confirmed residents’ priority for new parks and recreation, leading to the County’s 2025 investments in Castle Rock, Parker, Lone Tree, and Zebulon recreation facilities.
