May 2, 2026: Spring Up the Creek
Join us in this annual area-wide effort to improve and enhance our local creeks by collecting and removing trash and debris along trails across Castle Rock. All ages are welcome.
By order of Sheriff Darren Weekly, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are in place for unincorporated areas of Douglas County. Ordinance No. O-012-004 restricts open fires, open burning and the use of fireworks in the unincorporated areas of Douglas County.
Protecting clean water is a shared responsibility, and there are many ways to be part of the solution. Residents, businesses and partner organizations can get connected with opportunities to support CLEAR’s mission—from events we host and community activities we participate in to ways to connect, ask questions and access resources. Join South Metro Water Supply Authority and their members to experience fun for the whole family while learning about our most precious resource - water! Meet your local water providers, agencies and organizations, including CLEAR. More details to come.
Park staff and volunteers get together and work on a clean up project around Cherry Creek State Park. These projects usually consist of a shoreline clean up of trash, debris and fishing lines and/or cutting invasive Mullein weeds that are prevalent throughout the park. A BBQ and activities follow the cleanup. Date and time for 2026 is TBD.
