Storm sewer pipe replacement will improve safety and prevent flooding
Posted on July 14, 2025 2025News and EventsTransportation
From wildfire-fighting helicopters to upgraded stormwater systems that reduce flooding, public safety is always a top priority in Douglas County. That’s why crews will begin critical repairs to Lincoln Avenue between Stonegate Parkway and Keystone Boulevard on July 14.
The storm sewer pipe under this stretch of road was originally installed in 1984 and has significantly deteriorated over time. To keep the area safe and functioning properly, the pipe now needs to be replaced.
Traffic impacts will begin as soon as July 14, with a westbound lane closure, when crews begin preconstruction activities. Major impacts such as traffic shifts and one-lane travel through the work zone, will begin the following week. Motorists should plan for delays during the work hours of Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Please slow down and watch for signage as traffic patterns will change throughout the project.
The project is expected to wrap up in early August, weather permitting.
