Do you work for or know of a local nonprofit organization that is a champion of the arts? Whether it’s preserving history, theatrical presentations or teaching the joys of painting and dance to a new generation, these organizations may be eligible to apply for Scientific and Cultural Facilities District grant funds (SCFD).

SCFD is seeking organizations whose primary purpose aligns with SCFD’s mission of enlightening and entertaining the public through the production, presentation, exhibition, advancement or preservation of visual or performing arts, history or science.

Organizations that fit the description and serve a majority of Douglas County residents are invited to apply for eligibility through Sept. 10. Those deemed eligible will be able to apply for SCFD grant funds in early 2026. Please note: Castle Rock and Larkspur have opted out of the district; organizations within these areas are not eligible to apply.

Visit the SCFD webpage to learn more about eligibility and to fill out an application. Questions? Contact SCFD directly at 303-860-0588.

About SCFD
SCFD (Scientific and Cultural Facilities District) is the only cultural funding model in the nation that serves a region of seven (Denver metro) counties. SCFD funds nearly 300 organizations across the Front Range urban corridor, distributing more than $80 million annually. These tax dollars provide critical operational support for small, medium, and large organizations. SCFD is a catalyst for bringing world-class exhibits and events to our metro region, which would otherwise never be presented.

Douglas County provides funding for SCFD grants each year. Grant applications are reviewed by the Cultural Council before recommendations are presented to Douglas County Commissioners for certification.
