The Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) Board of Directors has released the draft 2020-2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for public comment. They will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at its 1001 17th Street office in Denver to allow submission of in-person comments. If you won’t be attending the hearing, you are encouraged to submit comments through mail, email or online by 5 p.m. July 17, 2019. Through DRCOG’s TIP project selection process, Douglas County citizens will find several regionally significant transportation projects being considered to receive federal funding. Projects include County Line Road widening (Broadway to University), US 85 widening (SH 67 to Castle Rock Parkway), intersection improvements at SH 86 and Ridge Road, US 83 safety improvements (Bayou Gulch Road to El Paso County) and others in Lone Tree and Parker. Transportation projects funded with federal sources are required to be selected through a competitive, regional process. The TIP process selects and allocates funds to projects that are important and valuable not only to the region but also to the local municipalities where they are located.

The Denver Regional Council of Governments is a nonprofit collaborative association that includes nine metro-area counties and 47 municipalities in the Denver region working together to address transportation and aging needs.
