With a philosophy of providing information so you can make the best decisions for yourself and your family, the Douglas County Health Department fully launches by the end of this year.

Many services are already being provided by the Health Department, including vital records, disease surveillance and environmental health services, such as inspections for restaurants, body art establishments and childcare facilities. The Health Department is also now responsible for permitting septic systems and responding to public health emergencies.
