How would you like to play a part in planning for the future of Douglas County?
If you live in Commissioner District II, including Castle Rock, Castle Pines, Franktown, Larkspur, Roxborough and Sedalia, the County seeks your willingness to serve as an alternate on the Douglas County Planning Commission. Alternate members must be available to attend meetings as needed, generally on the first and third Mondays of the month.
“Each citizen serving on our planning commission plays an important role in the review process of land use applications and prospective zoning changes,” said County Commissioner and Board Chair Roger Partridge. “The volunteer’s role includes certifying and updating the County’s comprehensive master plan and assuring that the County adheres to local and state regulations as part of this important public process.”
An alternate’s role consists of staying up to date on all topics and projects under review by the Planning Commission and representing an absent member on official proceedings.
Interested applicants may fill out an online application or print out the application and mail it to: Douglas County Commissioners’ Office, 100 Third St., Castle Rock, CO 80104 by September 13.
