Over the past year, we’ve been working with residents, community groups and local leaders to shape the 2050 Douglas County Transportation Plan (DCTP). This plan lays out a vision for how we’ll invest in roads, trails, transit and other transportation improvements over the next 25 years.
Thanks to your input, we’ve already made great progress. Now, we’re asking for your feedback on the draft plan to make sure it reflects what matters most to you.
How You’ve Helped So Far
We’ve heard from thousands of you through:
- Two countywide surveys with over 1,000 combined responses
- Public pop-up events across the County
- Interactive online maps where you shared over 140 location-specific comments
- Engagement meetings with community leaders, advocates and residents
- Input on priorities like safety, maintenance, transit and trail connections
Your feedback helped shape the plan’s five core goals: resilient network, service to all users, safety, efficient movement and sustainability. It also guided how we prioritized projects and identified the biggest transportation challenges facing our communities.
What’s in the Plan
- Projects to enhance safety and reduce severe crashes
- Expanding multimodal options like trails, bike infrastructure and transit
- Improving roadway maintenance and connectivity
- Strategies to support older adults and people without access to a car
- Preparing for future growth and emergencies
How to Participate: Residents, commuters and stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft plan and share their feedback by visiting our 2050 Transportation Plan webpage. Public comments will be accepted through Saturday, Nov. 15.
